First up, is Bike Night at the Tiki Bar, presented by Silverthorne Power Sports, Thursday, August 22 at 5:30pm. Bike or drive and meet us at the Tiki Bar for offers on drink specials for all of Silverthorne Power Sports’ guests!

Then, Pug’s is proud to sponsor Roots Retreat, a 3-day summer camping, music gathering and healing event, August 23-25, on the Williams Fork at Aspen Canyon Ranch in Grand County. This event will feature live music, ATV tours, horseback riding, yoga, fly fishing, hiking, biking, skeet shooting and guitar workshops. Ticket prices range from $30.00 for one day to $75.00 for all three days!

And finally, rounding out the weekend is a double dose of action on Saturday, August 25. Pug’s will be pouring it’s tasty suds at the first annual Rendezvous at the Rocks Beer Fest from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Rockyard Brewing Company in Castle Rock.  Rendezvous at the Rock will feature live music, food and beer from over 25 breweries. $35 in advance and $40 at the door (includes food ticket & commemorative glass). $10 fee for non-drinkers.

Then make your way to Pug’s for live music from Grammy Nominee Missed the Boat (MTB) at 9:00pm. Catch this unique Americana-Jamgrass band for just $3.00 at the door. MTB produces the energy infused, positive, and upbeat sound that radio listeners deserve and concertgoers love. With their consistent touring schedule and 7 submissions on the 2010/2011 Grammy ballots, Missed the Boat is taking the Colorado and national music scene by surprise. From lonesome high country bluegrass to Americana-fed rock n’ roll, this is a music experience you will not want to miss.

Lot’s of exciting stuff going on and Pug Ryan’s Brewing Company is smack dab in the middle of it all! Hope to see you at one or all of these events. Remember, we are “Brewed for the Outlaw in You!”

Pug Ryan’s Wins Colorado Brewers Guild Director’s Award

17th Annual Colorado Brewer's Guild Rendezvous.

17th Annual Colorado Brewer’s Guild Rendezvous.

Pug Ryan’s Brewing Company’s leadership role in the Colorado Craft Beer movement was recognized with the 2013 Director’s Award at the Colorado Brewers Guild (CBG) Annual Meeting prior to the Colorado Brewers Rendezvous in Salida on July 13, 2013.

Over the last year, Pug Ryan’s has increased capacity and quality of brewing, garnered an incredible amount of local and regional publicity, driven demand beyond supply and raised money for the craft beer culture in Colorado. In May of 2012 we completed an expansion, adding three new 45 BBL fermentors and two 45 BBL serving tanks, more than doubling our capacity and allowing us to focus much more on seasonal specialty beers.

Dave Simmons, our head brewer, has focused on quality, brewing an assortment of beers to satisfy the most discriminating palate, including our wonderful Peacemaker Pilsner, a creamy Scottish Ale, a nice hoppy Pale Ale and Oatmeal Vanilla Stout , made with a bit of Belgian candy sugar and a tincture of honey, Jim Beam and hazelnut.

Pug Ryan’s is proud of the many awards we have received at various beer competitions. To date, we have won more than 18 medals. Our accomplishments include silver medals for the Pallavicini Pilsner from the Great American Beer Fest and the North American Beer Awards in 2009. The Scottish Ale won a gold medal at the 2008 Colorado State Fair and a silver medal at the 2011 NABA, and our seasonal Helles Bock won a silver medal at the Craft Brewers Fest and a Gold Medal at the 2010 Great American Beer Fest. Our award winning microbrews can compliment any dish on our menu  – with our selection of beers, we have a brew for everyone!

The CBG, founded in 1995, is a non-profit trade association advocating on behalf of Colorado Craft Brewers. It represents more than 95 percent of craft beer production in Colorado. The Guild hosts its biggest event of the year, the Colorado Brewers Rendezvous (CBR), every year in July in Salida, Colo., an idyllic, relaxed, casual setting along the Arkansas River. Each year CBR provides Colorado beer lovers a pure Colorado craft beer experience in a family-friendly environment. The event benefits CBG and the Town of Salida Chamber of Commerce.

Perfect for the Summer – Crispi’s Cream Ale!

Cream Ale

Cream Ale

It’s that time of year in the Colorado High Country … long summer days and cool, clear nights. Pug Ryan’s Brewing Company brings you a style of beer that is perfect for the summer season … Crispi’s Cream Ale!

This beer is a hybrid of an ale and a lager – a light-bodied, very low hopped, smooth ale that’s blonde in color. Coming in at 4.9 ABV and 14 IBU’s, Pug’s brews the cream ale every summer for the opening of the Lakeside Tiki Bar at the Dillon Marina.

“The beer is light, not heavy like a stout that you would drink in the winter when it’s really cold,” said assistant brewer Ed Canty. “It’s a very smooth, very easy-drinking beer, not overly bitter like pale ales, and has a very crisp, clean finish to it.”

Canty continues, “It’s a lawnmower beer; you’re out there and you finish mowing the lawn and you want to drink a nice, cold, not hoppy beer … It’s low in alcohol, so you can have a few of them before you get a buzz going.”

Pug Ryan’s Brewery is now serving up the Crispi’s Cream Ale! Come for Happy Hour from 3-6pm daily for $2.50 pints.
